I have had the pleasure of watching the career of Elizabeth Pruitt for the past decade, and she is truly one of today’s contemporary rising stars. She is equally proficient in portrait, landscape and still life, but she is known mostly for her beautiful classical still life compositions.
She has received recognition from many prestigious painting groups, including the Oil Painters of America, the National Oil and Acrylics Painters Society, and most recently, the C.M. Russell Invitational Exhibition where she was awarded the Tuffy Berg award for “Best Newcomer” of the show. Her entry auctioned at the event for over $7,000.
What many of her collectors don’t know is that Elizabeth has been a teacher of art for almost as many years as she has been a painter. She is a clear and articulate instructor and can explain what and why she is doing on the canvas at any point in the process. For this reason, she has made a fantastic educational DVD on how she paints the still life in this program.
She spent almost a week in our studio, filming three programs to be released in sequence. When she was finished, it was difficult to decide which to release first, as they were all equally stunning. And, all three are equally informative.
It is often difficult to see an artist take a painting completely to the end, with all the final details, but Elizabeth is accomplished at being able to do just this. It is instructive to see how she builds the painting from a loose gesture in the beginning, to a solid foundation, to finally, the finishing details that make the objects seem to come alive.
This will be one of your favorites in your video collection, and I highly recommend it to you.

Nhưng từ đó, bạn có thể phạm phải 2 sai lầm lớn: 1) nghĩ rằng việc trở thành một nhà sáng chế là rất khó, và vì vậy cất kỹ ý tưởng đó trong một góc của bộ não mình, hoặc 2) nghĩ rằng điều đó quá dễ, từ đó lãng phí tiền của và thời gian mà không tiến hành các hoạt động chuẩn bị cần thiết, để rồi kết thúc với việc cất hàng trăm thiết bị không bán được vào góc ga-ra nhà mình.
Có một vị trí ở giữa hai thái cực trên, đó là nghiên cứu. Cũng giống như hầu hết các việc khác trên thế giới, sáng chế là điều có thể học được nếu bạn dồn đủ nỗ lực vào đó. Chúng tôi không nói rằng bất kỳ ai cũng có thể dạy cho bạn cách nghĩ ra ý tưởng, nhưng bạn có thể được dạy cách xử lý ý tưởng đó.

Brainstorming: đơn giản mà không đơn giản!
November 30, 2007 — adminNgày đầu tiên vào làm việc tại một công ty quảng cáo, tôi được sếp giao nhiệm vụ sắp xếp một buổi brainstorming để lấy ý tưởng cho một campaign mới. Nhiệm vụ được giao chỉ qua một email với vài địa điểm gợi ý, hầu hết là ở các quán cà phê có không gian rất tuyệt.
Tôi bắt tay vào chuẩn bị cho buổi họp nhưng trong lòng không khỏi ngạc nhiên và bắt đầu tìm hiểu tại sao brainstorming lại phải như vậy? Brainstorming là công cụ tốt nhất để tìm kiếm những ý tưởng sáng tạo Trong một tập thể, brainstorming là lúc mọi người cùng ngồi lại với nhau, cùng suy nghĩ, cùng trao đổi và đưa ra những ý tưởng mới lạ. Tuy nhiên brainstorming không phải dễ thực hiện vì một lý do dễ hiểu – mọi người thường có tâm lý giấu giếm những gì đang suy nghĩ vì sợ sự bình phẩm, dèm pha từ những người khác. Do đó, với những tập thể lần đầu thực hiện brainstorming hãy bắt đầu với một vài người đã quen biết cởi mở với nhau.
Việc thường xuyên brainstorming cùng nhau sẽ tạo một không khí thoải mái và mọi người dễ dàng đưa ra ý tưởng mới, đôi khi “điên rồ”nhưng chắc chắn kết quả sẽ khả quan.

Tất cả những hỉ, nộ, ái, ố trong các clip quảng cáo trên tivi hay những panô quảng cáo đều bắt nguồn từ một chữ duy nhất: ý tưởng.
Một ngày nào đó bạn bắt gặp một 8X trông rất ngớ ngẩn đang lang thang ngoài đường, hết nhìn cái này lại sờ cái nọ, bắt chuyện với bất kỳ ai lọt vào tầm mắt… Rất có thể đó chính là một copywriter đang đi tìm ý tưởng!
Copywriter 8X là ai?
Xin thưa, đây không phải là những SV mặc áo “sản phẩm” vẫn hay gõ cửa nhà bạn tiếp thị dầu gội đầu hay bột giặt đâu ạ (rất nhiều người lầm tưởng như thế). Họ, các copywriter – chuyên viên quảng cáo, chính là chủ nhân của “cho người lớn, cho trẻ nhỏ…” và những bé “thiên thần hương” đáng yêu bạn vẫn quen hằng ngày.
